It’s a big campaign day in southeastern Wisconsin as both presidential candidates stop by Milwaukee and West Allis.

As Wisconsin sees a surge in early in-person voting, surpassing previous presidential elections, candidates are doing their best to collect the remaining votes.

TMJ4’s Sydni Eure spoke with Milwaukee voters as the city prepares to step into the spotlight once again. Voters Adam Lisowe and Franco Shea shared how they think these latest campaign pauses might affect those who haven’t yet voted.

“I was going to say this a few weeks ago: I felt like I was still on the fence because I was kind of homeless at that camp that I was going to stay open,” said Adam Lisowe of Milwaukee. voter. “Then all of a sudden podcasts come out and I try to watch both sides because it’s like two sides of the coin.”

“So I think they come here and I feel like most people have made up their minds at this point, even when I talk to people, you say a name and it’s like either I’ve already voted or no, I’m not doing anything like that,” Lisowe said.

“I think there are very few undecided voters,” said Milwaukee voter Francis Shea. “I hope people come out and that’s the most important thing. I hear a lot of people will wait for this. “It’s not a good idea for it to be part of democracy, so it’s very important.”

You still have time to vote early. In Milwaukee, Sunday is the last day to do so before Election Day.

Voters said they were excited for the results to be in and the election process to be over.

“It will be nice not to hear ads anymore,” Lisowe said.

Lisowe and Shea said the hope is that no matter the outcome, everyone remains at peace.

“I hope people will be more chill because people are putting so much thought into this, I hope people will spread the love and be like it’s okay, this is over, we got someone, move on,” Lisowe said. “Life will go on.”

“I’m grateful it’s over,” Shea said. “This was very tense for all of us involved. “I believe that democracy lies at the root of this problem.”
