The West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service said a “major water main burst” had blocked a road in Wednesbury.

Stating that Leabrook Road North was completely flooded, officials asked people to stay away from the area if possible.

South Staffs Water said the explosion affected properties in Wednesbury, Bloxwich and Darlaston and thanked people for their patience while it worked to resolve the issue.

Emergency services stated that the road was completely flooded and warned drivers to stay away from the scene. West Midlands Police said it was assisting with road closures.
