What is driving many voters away from Harris and the Democrats?

Most of us have heard the fable of the scorpion and the frog. Like paraphrased Wikipedia says: “A scorpion wants to cross the river but cannot swim, so he asks the frog to take him across. The frog hesitates, afraid that the scorpion will sting him, but the scorpion promises not to do so, stating that he will drown if he kills the frog in the middle of the river. The frog makes this claim logically.” He finds it and agrees to carry the scorpion. In the middle of the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, condemning them both to death. The dying frog asks the scorpion why he stung him, even though he knew the consequences, and the scorpion replied: ‘I’m sorry, but I couldn’t stop myself. This is my character. ”

Likewise, if Donald Trump is re-elected, especially by a large electoral margin, and furthermore if the GOP gains control of both chambers, one important reason will be that the Democrats are like scorpions. They continue to hold more and more radical positions; positions increasingly out of touch with mainstream Americans. But instead of acting with political pragmatism and changing their extreme positions, they still maintain these positions, even to their own detriment.

It’s true that Kamala Harris is a very unpopular candidate. In fact, according to a recent report questionnaire“When asked which candidate they rejected ‘more’, 50.1 percent said Harris and 48.6 percent said Trump.”

It’s really striking when you think about how much hatred there is towards Donald Trump. But according to this poll (conducted between October 25-29), more people “rejected” Harris than Trump.

But if Trump and the GOP triumph next Tuesday, it won’t just be because Harris is unpopular and Trump is unpopular. Because Trump has too much baggage. There are so many haters. There are too many alienating flaws. There are so many obstacles to overcome.

Moreover, Trump has disappointed many Christian conservatives by knocking the teeth out of the GOP platform on important issues like abortion and gay marriage.

No, there’s something else driving many voters away from Harris and the Democrats. Like articulated Left-leaning political pundit Van Jones says: “Looking back at this period, I wonder if there’s no excuse for the things Elon Musk did, the things he said, he was irresponsible – but if progressives had a politics that said, all white people are racist, all men are toxic, and All billionaires are bad, it’s kind of hard to keep them on your side. So we might want to think about it: If you kick people out of the party, you can’t be angry when they leave. And maybe if we had a different policy, if we actually said everyone’s dignity, everyone’s respected, and we need you, we’d have more people. “He could have stayed.”

Quite true. Except Scorpio doesn’t think rationally and pragmatically. It means being true to one’s own nature. He can’t help but hurt the person he depends on for survival.

In other words, defending tampons in boys’ bathrooms is not a winning strategy (according to Governor Waltz).

Advocating for government-funded gender reassignment surgery for transgender-identified illegal immigrant inmates will not garner popular support (according to Vice President Harris).

Or telling black voters they would be disloyal if they didn’t vote for Harris would do little to encourage black turnout for Democrats.

When it comes to young male voters (18-29), columnist Erika Sanzi notes “From the 2016 Trump-Clinton race to today, the percentage of these voters who identify as or are close to Democrat has dropped from 51% to 39%.”

She attributes much of this to what she learned in school, writing: “Teacher training schools are steeped in a worldview that sees girls and women as victims and boys and men as victims. It is said that being born a woman in 2024 means ‘being oppressed’. “Pre-service teachers now spend their university years marinating in anti-male content and rhetoric, with slogans such as ‘Destroy the patriarchy’, ‘toxic masculinity’ and ‘the future is women’ abound.”

“It’s just like school-age boys asking, ‘Is there anything offered to me here?’” Sanzi continues. Just as young men in the 18-29 age group are also wondering the same thing when looking at the political left and the left. Democratic party.”

He concludes: “The constant sound of derogatory messages heard from the front of the classroom and the Democratic convention stage left young men feeling alienated and searching for something else.

“They seem to find that in the GOP.”

So why doesn’t the Democratic Party make a shift towards the center?

This is similar to the question the frog asks the scorpion: “Why, Mr. Scorpion, why did you sting me? Now we will both definitely drown.”

Scorpio replies: “I don’t know, I guess it’s my nature.”
