North Carolina-Based Butterball Preserves Thanksgiving Memories and Traditions with Nonprofit StoryCorps

Southern Thanksgiving is definitely about food; partiesshow stopper networkand an ever-expanding collection sweets— but more importantly, it’s about family and tradition. For our family, this was an annual trip to the mountains of Western North Carolina; here we would gather pieces of greenery for a tablescape from the land my great-grandfather once farmed. We enjoyed the pies my mother brought from Tennessee and shared around the table the things we were most grateful for.

North Carolina-based Butterball Garner wants to continue these conversations to encourage connection and empathy this Thanksgiving season. The beloved turkey brand recently announced a new partnership with StoryCorps Studios (an offshoot of the national nonprofit StoryCorps). This partnership is “dedicated to helping people believe in each other by illuminating the humanity and possibilities within all of us, one story at a time.” press release shared. Two brands are launching together National Thanksgiving Archive– A compilation of Thanksgiving speeches from Southerners from around the country We are invited to contribute.
