A murder investigation has been launched after a man died from his injuries after being attacked in Harrow.

Detective Inspector Luke Hampton, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “This is a complex scene with multiple people at the address. “We have arrested one person and inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.

“At this early stage we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no apparent risk to the public.

“A man lost his life and a family received the worst possible news. If you have information, please do not hesitate to contact us.”

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service just before 4.40pm on Wednesday, October 30, to reports of an injured man at an address in Sussex Road, Harrow.

Officers attended. A 48-year-old man was found at the scene with stab wounds. The person who was taken to the hospital unfortunately died at 14.35, despite all the efforts of healthcare professionals.

The victim’s family was informed. An autopsy will be planned in due course.

Later that evening, a 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The man was taken to hospital for minor injuries and was detained at a north London police station, where he is currently based.

Inspector Chris Clarke, who leads local policing for Harrow, Barnet and Brent, said: “We are supporting our Crime Specialist colleagues as they investigate and local people will notice a more visible police presence in the area to ensure confidence.
