PEORIA, Arizona (AZAfamily) — A 14-year-old boy is facing serious charges after his arrest almost two weeks after a murder. Stabbing at Peoria High School football game earlier this month.

The suspect surrendered to the police on Wednesday. He was booked into the Durango Juvenile Detention Facility on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault.

On the night of Oct. 18, two boys apparently got into a fight near the Peoria High School stands near 83rd Street and Grand Avenue.

Police said the 14-year-old boy at the time stabbed the other in the stomach.

While the injured person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, the suspect fled the scene.

Police said the proposed fees are subject to change.

“Each school’s campus area should be treated as a safe place, and those willing to compromise should be identified, arrested, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the Peoria Police Department said in a statement. he said.
