BISMARCK, ND (KFYR) – Since the Bismarck Public Golf Courses will be closing this year, you may be cleaning your golf clubs and putting them away for the season.

Riverwood Golf Operations Manager Tim Doppler said golfers played many more rounds this year than last year, a total of 40,000 rounds at Riverwood, and the course opened two and a half weeks early.

Doppler said the conditions at the golf courses were great and participation records reflected that.

“We are seeing a tremendous amount of growth throughout the region, statewide and locally. “So we are very close to needing a new golf course or another golf course locally,” he said. Doppler.
