Gang member out on bail shot dead by rivals in Mundka, Delhi – Delhi News

In another example of alleged gang violence in Delhi, a 22-year-old gang member, who was recently out on bail in a robbery case, was shot dead near his home in the city’s Mundka area on Saturday, police said.

The man, Amit Lakra, a member of the Gogi gang, was reportedly killed by motorcycle-borne assailants from the rival Tillu Tajpuriya gang. According to the police, the attackers fired about six bullets and Lakra died at the scene. Authorities are examining security cameras to identify the perpetrators.

Recent months have witnessed a series of clashes in the national capital. With the Mundka incident, the total number of such cases reported in the last three months has reached at least nine.

TIMELINE OF RECENT CONFLICTS IN DELHI

  • September 13: A gym owner was shot dead in Delhi’s Greater Kailash area. Authorities suspect the involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, whose members are in prison.
  • September 27: Gunshots rang out at a car dealership in Narayana, Delhi. The incident turned out to be gang-related and the investigation revealed the name of wanted gangster Himanshu Bhau, who lives in the United States.
  • September 28: A sweet shop in Nangloi was attacked by miscreants who opened fire after demanding extortion. CCTV footage points to the involvement of the Gogi gang.
  • October 26: A similar attack took place at the house of a businessman in Delhi’s Rani Bagh. Sources stated that the attack was again carried out by US-based gangster Pawan Shaukeen and planned by Lawrence Bishnoi’s rival in Gurugram jail. A demand of 10 million lira was made from the businessman.
  • November 4: A plywood exhibition hall in Nangloi was allegedly targeted by the Gogi gang. The shooters demanded 10 million rupees and left a poster with pictures of gangsters Jitendra Gogi and Kuldeep Fajja.
  • November 4: On the same day, another gun attack took place at the office of a real estate agent in Alipur.
  • November 6: Two separate incidents occurred in Paschim Vihar, where seven to eight gunshots were reported and another shooting was reported in Dwarka.
