CAMDEN — Clinton and Little Falls have switched places in the Division III field hockey landscape after winning sectional championships in classes C and D in 2023. A year later, they return to the division’s state tournament playoffs as champions of those same classes. reverse order.

“We followed,” Clinton coach Miquel Grimm said. “Now we will do the crossover again on Sunday.”

Little Falls and Clinton will face off Sunday at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School’s Sheveron Stadium to determine the division’s representative for the state’s Class C playoffs. Little Falls beat Clinton 1-0 in last year’s playoffs.

Little Falls 1, Canastota 0

Little Falls’ Mounties (16-2-0) beat Canastota’s Raiders (11-7-1) for the third time this season. Each of the three matches was decided by a single goal.

Goaltender Giuliana Izzo made three saves for the Mounties in the fifth straight game, her eighth in nine games and 11th of the season.

Little Falls won 1-0 at Canastota on Sept. 19 and beat the Raiders 2-1 at home on Oct. 10.
