Tulane-Charlotte Player Specs and Best Bets – College Football Week 10

Prop bet #1: Makhi Hughes 2+ TDs

+110 on DraftKings

The Army and Navy, stuck behind few or no military schools, Tulane Green WaveHe is producing 216.8 yards per game on the ground, which is good for 12th in the country.

They are led by running back Makhi Hughes, who is approaching 1,000 yards rushing and will need just 61 yards in his ninth game to reach that milestone.

Hughes leads the team in TDs and gains in five consecutive games for the season and nine total. During his current five-game hitting streak, the second-year player has twice scored multiple TDs.

Charlotte 49ers He’s in the bottom 4 against the run in the American Athletic Conference, giving up 184.4 yards per game, and his 17 rushing TDs allowed are tied for second-worst in the AAC.

Hughes will almost certainly find the end zone due to Tulane’s run-heavy attack, but his two-touchdown against the suspect Charlotte run defense is a better force for him.

Betting bet #2: Darian Mensah under 182.5 passing yards

-117 at Caesars

Freshman center Darian Mensah performed very well on the court, leading the Green Wave to five straight wins.

But other than his 326-yard passing gem against USF, Mensah has been pretty quiet on the passing chart. He has thrown for 175 yards or less five times in the last six games, with most of the damage done to the ground game.

Charlotte ranks 10th in the AAC in pass defense, allowing 230.8 yards rushing per game and allowing five quarterbacks to throw for 200-plus yards or more. Although these statistics are attractive considering the Over, Mensah averaged only 12.6 pass attempts during the five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Tulane averages 43 rushes per game and I think they’re smart enough not to give up their bread and butter. Look for the Green Wave to stay on script on Thursday.

Prop Bet #3: O’Mega Blake always TD

+250 on FanDuel

If Charlotte wants to keep pace with one of the nation’s highest-scoring teams, O’Mega Blake will need to find a way to contribute, too.

The 49ers’ junior leads the team in receptions and yards, averaging 23.3 yards per catch. He also leads all pass catchers in TD receptions with five, and no other receiver on the roster has more than two. Only Hahsaun Wilson leads the team with six points.

Blake will line up against a Tulane defense that gave up better than 226 yards through the air but, more importantly, ranked fifth in touchdown passes allowed.

Following a three-catch effort for 128 yards with a TD in the win over Memphis, Blake has four touchdowns in the last five contests for Charlotte. He will be in good position for the No. 6 pick against the Green Wave.
