Brighton 2-3 Liverpool: Fans’ opinions on the Carabao Cup match

We asked for your thoughts after the League Cup match between Brighton and Liverpool on Wednesday.

Here are some of your comments:

Brighton fans

John: Brighton played well against a superb Liverpool team who counter-attacked and were very difficult to deal with. Brighton still have players trying to make their debut and Gruda looks very good, but Wieffer is still off the pace and Moder needs a new club.

Cliff: The story of our game lately seems to be simple mistakes, causing us to lose possession of the ball at critical moments in dangerous areas. We need to concentrate on these rare moments.

-Steve: The Brighton manager has once again revealed an underdog team. No wonder we never made it to the quarter-finals because it’s clear the league always comes first.

-Joe: It seems like a missed opportunity as the manager has revealed the starting 11. Already two goals down, defensive substitutions in the first round are doubtful. The less said about Wieffer, the better.

Liverpool fans

Clifford: The changes made to Liverpool’s back four were too many and disrupted the balance. It could have been a different outcome.

Ken: A great win against a very dangerous team that never gives up. We distributed the ball too much and looked careless at times. Our difference was our determination to win and the amazing skills of Gakpo and Diaz. Why weren’t Mitoma and Welbeck starters at Brighton? An exciting and enjoyable match to watch.

Keith: We impressed for most of the match, which was an extremely tough draw on paper. Arne Slot is going from strength to strength but his managerial mettle will be tested with the task of turning Quansah into the finished article as it is error prone. A good draw in the quarters too.

Glenn: We were in control in the second half but allowed Brighton to come back with some stupid mistakes. Our substitute players need to be more careful in their approach.
