John Mayer reveals how he honors his late friend Bob Saget every day

Bob Saget had a heart for life, and John Mayer remembers it fondly.

After the “Full House” star Tragic death at the age of 65 The 47-year-old musician, who lost a close friend in 2022, continues to live by the words and actions the late comedian taught him.

“I think Bob was one of those rare people who could push against those walls of rules,” the artist continued. “He could put pressure on them and move them, and he really pleased people when he did that, and sometimes I have to remember that it’s okay to bring your favorite soft drink that (the place) doesn’t offer. With you After he died, I took it to the restaurant in my pocket.”

“I said, ‘I really want Spindrift in this restaurant, but they don’t have it so I’m bringing it.’ And I said, ‘Can I have a glass for the two Spindrifts I brought?’ I thought. “That made me feel like Bob because he really bravely took action against the tariffs and people loved him even more for it.”

Mayer keeps Saget’s memory alive by telling the stories of the beloved actor.

“I like to tell people, there’s an intersection here — and I know you’re the New York Post, but let’s be Beverly Hills-centered for a minute,” the singer recalled. “There’s a six-lane intersection right next to the Beverly Hills hotel, and Bob said the rule is the nicest car goes first.”

“And every time I go through that intersection and there’s someone in the car with me, I tell the story. I feel great pride when I tell stories about my old friend Bob, and I feel like I have a great bond with Bob.

Another way Mayer is honoring Saget is by showing and supporting the work the shooting star started all those years ago. Scleroderma Research Foundation.

“We even continue such activities,” he said. “This is a way for everyone to miss him together.”

As for the best advice Bob gave him?

“See, the right answer is something really dirty that only he can think of,” Mayer quipped. “So I love you, Bob. What will I say? Give me divine inspiration to finish my career here on the microphone because I’m not Bob Saget!

Jokes aside, the late actor had an important message for his fans.

“He was always about taking care of himself,” Mayer said. “If I was working really hard and I was on the road and everyone was saying, ‘It’s really cool that you’re playing so many different shows and different bands,’ Bob’s number one concern was me taking care of myself. I continue to take care of myself, keeping him in mind.”

In Mayer’s words, Saget was “deeply, deeply sensitive.”

His widow Kelly Rizzoco-hosted the event with Mayer and told the Post What they learned from the tragedy.

“We literally have no idea when this will be taken away from us instantly,” the blogger shared. “Tell your loved ones that you love them. Hug them. Say it often. Say it as much as you can.”
