President Bola Tinubu meets with members of the local currency implementation committee on crude oil and refined product sales.

The committee was escorted to the Abuja State House of Assembly for a meeting by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun.

Among those present at the meeting were the Group Chief Executive Officer, GCEO of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Mr. Mele Kyari; Chairman of the Federal Internal Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji; and Mr. Yemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Also present at the meeting were the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Mallam Farouk Ahmed, ACE of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA); The Chief Executive Officer (CCE) of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Mr. Gbenga Komolafe; and Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group.

The committee is scheduled to brief President Tinubu on the progress of the regulation improvised by the Tinubu administration to ease foreign exchange pressure on the economy.

Recall that President Tinubu directed NNPCL to begin selling crude oil to Dangote Refinery and other local refineries on July 29 this year.
