Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has lashed out at Ballon d’Or organizers after teammate Vinicius Junior missed out on the coveted award on Monday night.

Camavinga claimed the organizers were playing politics with the results, which resulted in Manchester City’s Rodri winning the Ballon d’Or ahead of Vinicius.

The French international also stated that Vinicius is the best player in the world and that no award can define the Brazilian’s football talent.

DAILY POST reported that the decision to award Rodri the award sparked a lot of controversy on social media.

Many believe Vinicius deserved it more.

However, a few hours before the ceremony started on Monday, it was widely reported that Vinicius would not win, causing Real Madrid to boycott the ceremony.

Reacting after Rodri won the award, Camavinga shared a photo of himself with Vinicius in X:
