“For me, Diwali means a time of celebration, gatherings, eating delicious food and thanking God for abundance and growth,” says actor Jasmine Bhasin, who was recently seen in the show. Punjab language movie Ardaas Sarbat De Bhale Di.

Bhasin, who grew up in Kota, Rajasthan and currently lives in Mumbai, shares diwali it reminds him of home and evokes nostalgia. “My fondest Diwali memories come from my home in Kota, where I grew up in a joint family. Each year family holidays were so much fun with new clothes and everyone playing specific roles in the celebration. My chachas would take on the patakhas. It was a nice way to bring positivity and festivities together. “That’s something I really miss.”

This year, Bhasin’s plans are particularly meaningful. “I really love celebrating festivals and Diwali is one of my favourites. My mother travels to Mumbai from Kota because she knows that I feel sad when I am alone. diwalibecause it’s all about family and friends,” he says. “I missed it all last year because I was in London filming Carry On Jattiye and was away from home. Despite this, my amazing team celebrated Diwali with me in London.”

While her mother is visiting, Jasmine is looking forward to hosting a Diwali dinner with the participation of her close friends and partner Aly Goni. “I am looking forward to celebrating at home with my mom, friends and family including Aly (Goni).”

When you ask him about attending Diwali parties in the industry and whether he is looking forward to them, Bhasin replies, “Although we (Aly and Jasmine) have been together for a long time, we have never gone to Diwali parties together due to my travel. This year, we are looking forward to attending all our friends’ Diwali parties and not celebrating any We plan not to miss it,” he says, adding, “I have been in Mumbai for 12 years and have not been to nearly three or four Diwali parties, mostly because I was traveling. I just saw pictures and videos of them on social media, wishing I could have been there. Luckily, I am here this year and the parties are as good as they look online. I’m excited to see if it’s fun.”

Regarding her attire, Bhasin tells us that she will definitely dress traditionally. “The outfit I wear for Diwali is usually either a saree or a lehenga. I love wearing lehengas and saris and try to keep them that way. I will stick to it this year too.”

Is there a particular Diwali tradition he values? “My own Diwali tradition is to make besan ladoos, which was my favorite treat growing up. My mother always made these at home for Diwali,” she recalls, adding, “To repeat this tradition, this year my mother made these for me when I was no longer in Kota.” “will be here.” He adds, “As a kid, I loved lighting diyas and placing them all around the house. Wherever I am, it’s something I never miss. Even if I’m on the set, I make sure to bring diyas and light them upstairs.”

Explaining how he balances work and festivities during such a busy time of the year, Bhasin says that although “work is a priority”, he also “nurtures the love of home and family”. “The feeling of being with my family and friends brings me happiness and positivity, which fuels my work. No matter how busy I am, I believe in celebrating as much as I can,” she concludes.
