Iranian Guard Commander warned Israel of ‘bitter consequences’ after attack: According to media reports

The top commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard warned that Israel would face “painful consequences” after attacking Iran’s military facilities, local media reported on Monday, October 28, 2024.

In response to Tehran’s October 1 missile attack, Israel struck military facilities in retaliation for the killings of Iran-backed militant leaders and the commander of the Revolutionary Guard.

Mr. Salami said the Israeli attack was a sign of “miscalculation and desperation” at a time when Israel is fighting pro-Tehran militants in Gaza and Lebanon.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday, October 29, 2024 that Tehran will “respond harshly and effectively” to Israel’s deadly attacks on military sites over the weekend.

“We are using all available tools to respond decisively and effectively to the aggression of the Zionist regime,” Mr. Baghaei said at a regular news conference.

He called this a “miscalculation” by Israel.

President Masoud Pezeshkian said, “We are not seeking war, but we will defend the rights of our nation and our country.”

Mr. Pezeshkian added that Iran “will give an appropriate response to the aggression of the Zionist regime.”

Also Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated Iran’s “right to respond” and said Tehran “received indications” hours before Israel’s attack.
