WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — West Palm Beach police are investigating after a man was shot Sunday evening.

Police spokesman Mike Jachles said officers at a nearby fall festival responded to the 1600 block of North Australia Boulevard.

The fall festival was a trunk or treat event at the Gaines Park Community Center.

Police said fire rescue teams transported the man to St. Louis in critical condition. He said he took him to Mary Medical Center.

It’s unclear where the man was shot, and police said no other injuries have been reported so far.

While detectives investigated Sunday evening, road closures were observed on Australia Boulevard from North Magnolia Drive to 15th Street.

More shots fired

About an hour later, second-hand gunshots were heard from the scene. Police officers then went to the 600 block of 10th Street around 7:30 p.m.

Jachles said no victims were found after this incident. At this time, police do not believe the shootings are related.
