Gardai are investigating the circumstances after the body of a man in his 20s was found in Wexford.

The discovery was made Sunday afternoon, October 27, at Shelmalier Commons.

The body currently remains at the scene and is currently being preserved.

A Garda spokesman said: ‘Gardaí in Wexford are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a man in his 20s at Shelmalier Commons, Co. Wexford Sunday afternoon, October 27, 2024.

‘The body currently remains at the guarded crime scene.

‘The Garda National Technical Bureau has been notified and a technical investigation is being carried out at the scene.’

Gardai They arrested a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s. They are currently being detained at a Garda station in Wexford Division under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) was appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room was established at Wexford Garda Station.

A Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been appointed to provide support to the dead man’s family.

Gardaí added that investigations were ongoing.
