PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – A 21-year-old Plainfield Township man died after crashing his motorcycle into another vehicle Saturday evening.

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred just after 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, at the intersection of Plainfield Boulevard and Mark Street in Plainfield Township.

Deputies said the man was riding his Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Plainfield Boulevard at a high rate of speed when he struck a passenger vehicle turning westbound onto Mark Street.

The man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 23-year-old Grand Rapids woman, did not suffer any injuries.

This fatal crash remains under investigation by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit.
