Former Shropshire railway station could be converted into holiday let

Plans to convert a former railway station, which was closed to passengers more than 60 years ago, into holiday accommodation have been approved.

Leaton New Station, near the village of Bomere Heath in Shropshire, opened in 1847, closed to passengers in 1960 and then to goods in 1965.

The building’s owner, Lord Ambrose Langley-Ingress, has submitted a proposal to convert the site into a holiday home, providing accommodation for guests along with “an established bed and breakfast business”.

Shropshire Council full planning permission granted, external for the program depending on the circumstances.
