GURLEY, Ala.(WHEN) — A death investigation is ongoing in Gurley after a person was found unresponsive Monday morning.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the death investigation is being conducted in the 1000 block of Brownsboro Road; where deputies responded to a call for service and found the person unresponsive around 3:40 a.m.

MCSO tells News 19 deputies immediately began providing aid and called for emergency services to arrive on scene.

Deputies determined that the person died at the scene.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Detectives and crime scene technicians are currently processing the scene and collecting evidence.

There is currently no information regarding the identity of the person.
