A 33-year-old man was accused of murdering a 69-year-old woman.

The woman, whose name was not disclosed, died after being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

It comes after North Wales Police were called to a house on Cefndy Road in Rhyl, Denbighshire, on Thursday night.

Dean Mark Albert Mears, of Bodelwyddan Avenue, Kinmel Bay, borough Conwy, will appear in court in Llandudno on Monday.

He was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 25-year-old woman, who was arrested on suspicion of aiding a criminal, was released on conditional bail.

Det Chief Inspector Lee Boycott said the investigation was ongoing and urged “anyone with information who has not yet come forward to contact us”.
