College GameDay made its second trip to the college town of Bloomington, Indiana; This trip was a homecoming for one of the show’s most iconic members.

Lee Corso, affectionately known as ‘Coach’ by everyone on and off the show, returned to Indiana University as part of the college football preview show’s weekly road trip stop.

IU was where Corso had the longest tenure of his career as a college football head coach, and he celebrated by wearing a vintage sweatshirt he wore while in charge of the Hoosiers.

Fans of the show went wild when the 89-year-old coach was shown on screen wearing a red ‘Indiana’ branded sweatshirt, followed by a video of himself wearing the same outfit in archive footage.

“Lee Corso looks so healthy in his tiny Indiana sweatshirt,” wrote a user on his old Twitter account, X.

The same shoes Corso wore during his nine seasons as head coach at the school.

‘Lee Corso’s Indiana sweater is everything. Way to be a coach,’ wrote another.

Another user said, ‘They made my son Lee Corso look like Indiana.’

Corso’s tenure in Bloomington was the longest of his career; He coached the Hoosiers from 1973-1982.

Known for his achievements on the basketball court rather than the gridiron, Corso could only win two seasons during his time in Indiana.

Corso, whose overall record was 41-68-2, was inducted into the Indiana Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010 to commemorate his time in Bloomington.

With 41 wins, he has the third-most wins of any head coach in Indiana football history.

Corso also led the Hoosiers to their first bowl game victory – a 38-37 victory over BYU in the Holiday Bowl in 1979.

Indiana is currently in the midst of its best football season in four years; They start at 7-0 for the first time under new head coach Curt Cignetti since 1967 and are ranked for the first time since 2020.

The Hoosiers face the University of Washington Huskies hoping to improve their record to 8-0.
