See the path of a Category 1 storm as it weakens

Hurricane Kristy The storm, which weakened to a Category 1 storm on Saturday, is expected to strengthen into a post-tropical hurricane and become disorganized in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday. National Hurricane Center (NHC) announced.

On Saturday morning, the agency said the hurricane was 1,600 kilometers from the southern tip of Baja California. The NHC said Kristy was moving northwest at about 15 mph.

The NHC said Hurricane Kristy had maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and higher.

Forecasters continue to monitor the tornado as it dissipates. The NHC said waves caused by Hurricane Kristy affected parts of the west coast of the Baja California peninsula. This impact is expected to continue through the weekend, the NHC said. These swells will likely “cause life-threatening surf and disrupt existing conditions,” the agency said.

The NHC said no coastal watch or warning is in effect.
