With all this said, the selection of the top 20 curry restaurants in the country and the best restaurants outside London for 2024 has been announced.

This year Ravel Indian Brasserie & Bar newcastle Crowned the best curry restaurant outside the capital. Phil Shaw, marketing manager at the British Indian Good Food Guide, said: ‘Raval has redefined Indian food in the region. Their focus on innovation and originality is unique, which is why they’ve earned a spot at the top of our guide. ‘

The judges particularly liked Raval’s lobster, mango and Darjeeling lamb chops, saying the menu was ‘proof of how Indian cuisine is constantly evolving while remaining true to its roots’. See below for the best of the rest.
