Former Mississippi probation officer pleads guilty to seven embezzlement charges

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A former probation officer has pleaded guilty to seven counts of embezzlement.

Lacosta Lee He was accused of receiving court-ordered fines and fees from people on probation and using them for his personal use.

He was a contract probation officer with Court Programs, Inc.

On Thursday, Lee was sentenced to 20 years in prison, 17 suspended, three in prison and five years of post-release supervision, and was ordered to pay $4,313.75 in restitution, a $3,000 fine and $400 to a victims’ compensation fund.
