Fatal crash in Florida: Sheriff’s office said 2 deputies died and 1 was seriously injured in ‘horrific’ crash in Palm Beach County

Two deputies are dead and a third is in critical condition after a “terrible crash” in Florida, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that three Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies were involved in the incident that occurred Thursday morning on Palm Beach County Southern Boulevard.

The deputies were riding motorcycles, according to West Palm Beach ABC affiliate WPBF.

A procession of law enforcement officers from across South Florida escorted the deceased deputies to the county coroner, WPBF reported.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw held a press conference at 4 pm ET on Thursday to provide more information about the incident.

“Sheriff Ric Bradshaw will address the community as we deal with this heartbreaking situation,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement to X. he said. “Please keep our PBSO family in your thoughts and prayers during this devastating time.”

Florida Senator Rick Scott said he spoke with Bradshaw after the crash.

“Our brave men and women in uniform voluntarily risk their lives every day to keep us safe, but devastating news like this never catches us off guard,” Scott said in a statement to X. he said.
