GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – After nearly 10 years, a local coffee shop is pulling its tentacles out of the water.

Octopus Coffee will close its doors at the end of the month. The coffee shop has been open on Horizon Drive since 2015. The landlord of the property did not renew the lease, and the president of the business was unable to find a new location.

“It’s so important for the community to know this because if we’re going to find a place to go, it’s beyond what I could find on my own,” said Alexis Bauer, President of Octopus Coffee.

Bauer is exploring options to take the business elsewhere, but so far has not found a location.

“I spent the whole summer knocking on doors, visiting kitchens, checking out places. Property values ​​are inflated. People weren’t willing to come down that way,” Bauer said.

Octopus Coffee will close on November 27th.
