Prince William and Kate Middleton are said to be focused on protecting their three young children after a security breach rocked the House of Windsor.

Fox News Digital confirmed that thieves broke into a building on the royal family’s Windsor Castle estate. This is the location of Adelaide Cottage, where the Prince and Princess of Wales live with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

“This is of course terrible for Prince William and Catherine because at this time when they are under so much stress due to health concerns, this is the last thing they need.” British royal expert Hilary Fordwich he told Fox News Digital.

“Who in the world can sleep well at night knowing that their security has been violated like this?… Allegedly, the armed guards were removed (previously) because they were deemed unpopular with tourists and the public. Of course. Tourists are calm and happy when they see the royal family protected by armed guards they will!”

Royal expert Neil Sean also told Fox News Digital: “William and Catharine…were not in any danger.” “But a source told me that the situation could have turned much more dire… The fact that (the thieves) had gotten so far into the Windsor estate was very worrying, especially for William. Naturally (he) is worried about any stress on his wife and, of course, his father.” and anxiety.”

Thames Valley Police told Fox News Digital that the property, which also houses several employees, was targeted in October.

Police continued: “The criminals entered a farm building and fled in a black Isuzu pickup and a red SUV. They then drove to the Old Windsor/Datchet area.”

“No arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation is ongoing.”

“It’s pretty scary for the people who live on the grounds of Windsor Castle,” Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di For Daily podcast, told Fox News Digital. “Despite the foot traffic, it’s a bit of a sanctuary. I was let out at closing time so those on the property could enjoy some normalcy during the day.”

“Someone tried this too a few years ago Queen Elizabeth II Ambush Elizabeth there.,” he remarked. “Knowing how expensive royal security costs are, it is disappointing to discover how ineffective they are. “As ugly as it is… it seems like it’s time to invest in modern technologies.”

The Sun, which first reported the news, wrote that William, Kate and their children were sleeping at home at the time of the theft. It was the Sunday night before the young royal’s school day. The family moved to Adelaide Cottage in 2022 to be closer to the children’s school.

Their home is five minutes away from the burglarized building.

Sean said that King Charles was in Scotland at the time, while his wife, Queen Camilla, went to India.

“William was very keen to keep this under wraps until the situation was finalized as he didn’t want to cause any alarm,” Sean said. “For now, security is on higher alert at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace and Adelaide Cottage… only Prince George was aware of the situation as he was thought to be too young to tell the other two.”

It’s been a tumultuous year for the royal family. Both Kate (42) and Charles (76), diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of this year. In September, the Princess of Wales announced that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment.

William, 42, who has taken leave to support his wife, admitted during his latest visit to South Africa that 2024 is “brutal” and probably the “hardest year of my life”.

British broadcaster Jonathan Sacerdoti told Fox News Digital that the security breach served as a “disturbing reminder” of potential threats.

“While the theft itself appears to be opportunistic, the ease with which the perpetrators breached security boundaries highlights vulnerabilities that can be exploited for more nefarious purposes in different situations,” Sacerdoti said.

“The proximity of the raid to Adelaide Cottage, home to the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, heightens this concern,” he said. “The thieves demonstrated a level of familiarity with the property by claiming surveillance or prior knowledge. This raises the alarming possibility of how such information could be weaponized by those with more dangerous intentions.”

“The incident highlights the dual nature of the threats facing the estate: protecting physical assets and ensuring the security of key members of the royal family,” Sacerdoti continued. “The financial losses are regrettable, of course, but the symbolic and practical consequences of a security breach in the vicinity of one of the most senior royal families are much more profound.

“It highlights the need for robust, adaptable security measures that take into account both opportunistic crimes and targeted threats, ensuring that such incidents do not develop into direct risks to individuals.”

Sean told Fox News Digital that an “excellent source” told him that police “are not ruling out that this could be an inside job” because it’s time to break in and the thieves know exactly where to break in. Find the stolen equipment. Thames Valley Police did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on this theory.

Fordwich points out farm equipment thefts are “at record highs in the UK”

“Unfortunately, for most people in the UK this is all too common because their safety is threatened,” he added.

Despite security fears, royal experts say family Will follow the late queen’s mantra: keep Calm and carry on.

“This breach is unlikely to significantly alter William and Catherine’s daily lives,” Sacerdoti said. “Their choice to live at Adelaide Cottage reflected a desire to strike a balance between privacy and accessibility. Such events, while frustrating, are unlikely to deter them from their commitment to a relatively grounded family life.”

“However, this could lead to intensified security protocols around their residence, especially given the visibility of Shaw Farm Gate, which was a regular exit for the family,” he added.

“I believe that the Prince of Wales and his family have confidence in their security team,” Schofield said.

Sean believes this is a pivotal moment for the police as all eyes are on them.

“This is a truly shameful situation for Thames Valley Police,” he said. “This situation occurred over almost three weeks ago and so far nothing has happened, no arrests, no real steps forward.”
