The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Training Academy class graduated Friday

EL PASO COUNTY — North of Colorado Springs, the last of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Training Academy class celebrated graduation Friday.

El Paso County Legislators and alumni of the following institutions earned their badges:

  • Teller County Sheriff’s Office
  • Costilla County Sheriff’s Office
  • Fremont County Sheriff’s Office
  • Colorado State Parole

The academy lasted 28 weeks. One of the new members says friendship has made them successful.
Recruits say they are ready to serve and protect their communities. Newly graduated sheriff’s deputy Connor Stachecki tells us why he joined law enforcement.

“The father of one of my friends, I always looked at him when I was growing up, he was always happy and smiling and seemed like he had a great life,” Stachecki said. “So it just kind of clicked like law enforcement, that became my calling.”

Congratulations to all graduates. News5 wishes them luck in serving their communities safely.
