Olivia is moving to Steamboat’s west side where she will continue the owners’ 30-year tradition of providing customers with the best selection and excellent service

After nearly 30 years in business and a decade at its current location, owners Olivia and Denny Kimmeth are moving the retail space of Olivia’s Home Furnishings and Interior Design to 2670 Copper Ridge Circle.

“So it’s right behind Elk River Farm and Feed,” Olivia Kimmeth said Thursday. “We started west of the city, moved to this location 10 years ago, and now we will be moving back to the west of the city because our warehouse is larger and holds more inventory.”

He said the move will make his operations more efficient as it combines warehouse space with retail space. In total the area covers approximately 4,000 square meters. The area west of town is also about a third of the rent he currently pays, he said.

“We operate out of two locations, so our designers and I are constantly going back and forth,” Kimmeth said. “It’s an hour between traffic and getting there, showing something, and getting back to the store. “We are very excited about the new location and being in one place.”

Kimmeth said he completely gutted the space and redesigned it with new lighting, tile and wood walls. It is currently moving into the space and welcoming the public to the new location from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the day after Thanksgiving for its Black Friday event.

“It’s really sweet and a really nice exhibit hall,” Kimmeth said. “On Black Friday, we will be having a huge Black Friday sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring champagne and appetizers.”

Olivia’s offers a selection of furniture, fabrics, lighting and accessories curated in the finest quality and exceptional style. During this time, Olivia’s has been a source for distinctive and well-crafted furniture, lighting and artwork, Kimmeth said, and he plans to continue that tradition at the new location. He said his flooring is 100 percent American-made and comes from North Carolina.

“Our design work accounts for more than half of our total business,” Kimmeth said. “We build houses from scratch, five of them are coming out of the ground right now, and we do a lot of renovations.”

Olivia works with five different subcontractors and has a staff member who is in the store every day to assist customers who come in for help.

The long-standing Steamboat Springs business will celebrate 30 years of serving the community in November 2025 and said it has no plans to stop anytime soon.

“I’m not closing. I just renovated the warehouse and I’m definitely not retiring; I’m not ready yet,” Kimmeth said. “We appreciate Steamboat so much and the biggest thing I always say is please try to shop at Steamboat. We have everything here, and we’re all competitive about what they can do in Denver or anywhere else. “We try to be competitive with our prices, and it’s a good thing to shop here because if something goes wrong, we’re all here to take care of it.”
