BEULAVILLE, NC (WNCT) — A man was arrested after officers with the Beulaville Police Department responded to a suspicious vehicle parked in the Grace Covenant Church parking lot on November 7, 2024.

Officers checked the vehicle and found Darion Smith of Buelaville inside. During the search, approximately 128 grams of marijuana, a 9 mm gun, digital scales, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia were seized.

The following accusations were made against Smith:

• Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Schedule VI controlled substance

• Schedule VI controlled substance production

• Felony of possession of Schedule VI controlled substance

• Maintenance of a vehicle for a controlled substance

• Possession of marijuana paraphernalia

• carrying a concealed weapon

Smith was jailed under $5,000 secured bail.
