WWE Legend Shawn Michaels Teases Potential In-Ring Return

Shawn Michaels is undoubtedly one of the best superstars in WWE history.

With his perfect combination of charisma and technical ability, Michaels has remained incredibly popular with fans.

Now the creative power behind WWE NXTFans are still wondering when the Heartbreak Kid will return to the ring.

Six years after his last match, Michaels appears to have provided a definitive answer.

In a recent interview Penn LiveMichaels announced that his tenure as an in-ring talent was over.

“I am. Yeah, I’m done in the ring. Absolutely,” Michaels said. “Yes sir. I’m very comfortable being behind the scenes.”

This is probably the right decision, considering his last match with Triple H against Kane and Undertaker was incredibly poorly received. Additionally, Michaels has had incredible success leading NXT.

β€œIt means a lot to me when I look back and think there are so many memories,” Michaels said. β€œI really want to have the opportunity to provide those same dreams and aspirations to the young men and women who walk through our doors at the Performance Center at NXT.”

Michaels has helped countless superstars transition from NXT to the main roster, including current Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Lyra Valkyria, and Women’s Money in the Bank winner Tiffany Stratton.

Michaels began his WWE career in 1987 as a member of The Rockers (then known as the WWF) alongside Marty Janetty, with whom he worked in the American Wrestling Association (AWA) and National Wrestling Alliance (NWA).

Although the duo never officially won the tag team titles, they proved incredibly popular. Yet Michaels eventually turned on Janetty, establishing himself as the villain and eventually rebranding as The Heartbreak Kid.

He would have some of the greatest rivalries and matches of all time with names like Michaels, Bret Hart, Ric Flair, Razor Ramon (Scott Hall), Diesel (Kevin Nash), Triple H, Chris Jericho, etc. Wolf AngleJohn Cena and The Undertaker.

During his 21-year in-ring career, Michaels won the WWF Championship (three times), the World Heavyweight Championship, the Intercontinental Championship (three times), the European Championship (three times), and the European Championship (three times). tag team championship.

Additionally, Michaels won the Royal Rumble in 1995 and 1996, making him the second wrestler after Hulk Hogan to win back-to-back and the first wrestler to win at #1.

Michaels has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice, once as an individual in 2011 and once as a member of D-Generation X in 2019.
