Disturbing new details emerge in court after Homer Glen’s toddler dies, parents charged

A. Will County The judge decided to detain a father regarding the possibility of his 2-year-old daughter dying from an overdose.

Edward Weiher, 49, appeared in court Thursday morning. He and the girl’s mother, 27-year-old Alexa Balen, face felony charges including endangering the life or health of a child and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Prosecutors have uncovered disturbing details about the events of last Wednesday night, when the boy died; For example, the girl’s body went limp and she lay dying for four hours before her parents called 911.

Neighbors said they noticed something strange recently with hundreds of Amazon packages piling up.

“I was very upset. I was upset because I had no idea what was going on. I mean, it’s a very nice house. They have indoor pools in that house. I never saw any of them outside. I never saw the kids playing outside,” he said. neighbor Aneta Lipinski-Walkosz.

It was decided to keep Weiher in jail until his next hearing on December 3. Balen will remain in the hospital, but will be sent to prison after his recovery.
