HOULTON, Maine (WABI) – An Oakfield man was arrested after police say he caused a crash in Houlton over the weekend.

Vern Anderson, 25, was charged with fleeing an officer, felony criminal mischief, drug possession and operating after suspension.

Authorities said they tried to pull Anderson over because he didn’t have taillights.

Anderson reportedly failed to stop and then lost control of his vehicle, crashing into a utility pole and another vehicle.

Officials said no life-threatening injuries were reported. However, Anderson and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital.

The investigation into the accident continues.
