This Art-Forward Restaurant Brings Parisian Energy to New York

Le CoinLocated in the heart of New York City’s Meatpacking District, a new restaurant is focusing its efforts beyond great food with a tech-forward approach that allows patrons to enjoy traditional French fare alongside carefully curated works of art.

Bringing a Parisian flair to Manhattan, the dining menu features Executive Chef Sebastien Chaoui’s dishes inspired by Paris and coastal France; these include Hachis Parmentier de Canard, a hearty shepherd’s pie with pulled duck leg pate, mashed potatoes and shaved truffle, and La Soupe à L’Oignon, served deconstructed to add a unique flavor to the popular appetizer.

Leaning on traditional French design, the restaurant features colorful stripes and florals to create a ‘spring in Paris’ feel all year round, while maintaining an elegant sensibility. The color palette combines light neutrals with deep greens and vibrant pinks to create a playful space with depth and character; The comfortable seating area and large dining area create a ‘stay awhile’ feeling where guests can feel right at home in a luxurious atmosphere.

Collaborating with Leica Gallery, the restaurant has created a collaborative ‘annex’ exhibition hall to highlight the works and artists of the Leica community, complete with a curated art menu of works inspired by both France and New York City.

Le Coin Co-Owner Michael Achenbaum said the partnership came about as a result of: Leica’s new flagship location In the Meatpacking District, which opened its doors in March 2024. Achenbaum, Paris ChongGallery Director at Leica Gallery’s Los Angeles location.

“Leica’s long history of innovation, premium quality, creativity and versatility inspires us, and these values ​​align with Chef Sebastien Chaoui’s artistic approach to food and standards of culinary excellence at Le Coin,” Achenbaum explained. “We are honored to showcase these artists on our walls and hope our guests feel even more inspired while they are here.”

“We worked with Paris Chong to select works that were inspirational or tied to France or the Meatpacking District, depending on where the photo was taken,” he added.

One of the featured artists, Mathieu Bitton, photographed ‘The Affair – Jardin Des Tuileries, Paris, 2013’, a photograph of a couple that the artist took somewhat secretly. According to Achenbaum, he likes to imagine that this is a romantic moment from an affair in Paris.
