Police said 10 people were taken to hospital as a precaution following a crash involving a bus and a lorry in Leicestershire.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said the bus had 37 children on a school trip and 16 passengers suffered minor injuries in the crash on the A46 near Syston.

The collision, which occurred at around 09:30 GMT, closed the northbound dual carriageway between the A607 and B676 near Cossington.

National Highways said the northbound carriageway reopened at 2pm but normal traffic conditions were expected to resume between 5.45pm and 6pm.
