A video has emerged of the man who allegedly stabbed a doctor at a hospital in Chennai wandering around the facility before being caught by security and beaten by hospital staff in the immediate aftermath of the attack.

In the video taken shortly after the attack, the suspect, identified as Vignesh, is seen walking through the hospital. It is seen that he threw the knife he used in the stabbing to the handle area after wiping the blood off the knife.

The footage also shows Vignesh continuing his walk through the hospital before security guards quickly caught him. The crowd around the hospital became agitated and Vignesh was reportedly beaten by hospital staff before being handed over to the police.

The incident happened when Vignesh met with Dr. A respected oncologist and associate professor at the hospital. The alleged stabbing of Balaji Jagannathan took place at the city’s Kalaignar Centenary Super Specialty Hospital.

Reportedly, the incident took place in the outpatient department (OPD) of the hospital, where Vignesh, disguised as a hospital employee, approached Dr. It happened when he attacked Jagannathan. Vignesh, the doctor, Dr. Jagannathan is said to be upset because he suspects that he has prescribed the wrong medication to his mother, who has cancer under his care.

Police arrested Vignesh and investigation into the reason behind the attack is on.

The attack also sparked outrage, with doctors and nurses gathering outside the hospital entrance to celebrate their strong protest.
