LASIK controversy lashes out at NFL referees over missed penalty

Referee Tra Blake told the pool reporter after the match that he could not see the mask catch.

“The quarterback was looking the opposite way to me, so I didn’t get a good look at him,” Blake said. via ESPN. “I didn’t look and of course I didn’t see the face mask being pulled.”

Blake said referee Carl Paganelli was also obstructed.

“The referee had players between him and the quarterback, so he didn’t get a good look at it,” Blake added. “That was blocked too. So that’s what happened. We didn’t see it, so we couldn’t call it.”
