The University of Washington announced its NIL partnership with the role-playing game World of Warcraft ahead of its home football final against UCLA on Friday night.

The partnership includes a special Huskies logo featuring World of Warcraft branding:

Per Michael Ehrlich World of Warcraft characters will take to the field alongside Washington players in NIL Daily’s Friday match. Shirts will also be distributed to students in memory of the day.

“We’re excited to combine interactive entertainment with the sports industry to celebrate 20 incredible years of World of Warcraft delighting millions of players around the world,” said Monica Austin, head of marketing at Blizzard Entertainment.

“Our teams work together to create incredible in-person and broadcast experiences for fans, and we hope Husky Nation and World of Warcraft players will be equally excited about WoW in Washington.”

Washington’s hopes of returning to the College Football Playoff ended a while ago, but the team still has a lot to play for in its final two games. At 5-5, the Huskies need one more win to become bowl eligible. If they fall to UCLA, there’s a very good chance they’ll lose the season, considering they’ll end up on the road against No. 1 Oregon on Nov. 30.
