On Oct. 30, Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance on County Road 217, where they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman reported that her boyfriend had shot her, leading police to find and arrest the suspect in front of her home.

The suspect, identified as Brent Edward Amerson, is currently facing multiple serious charges including Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence, Kidnapping, and Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer. Judges Seth Adams and Jeff Sparks set Amerson’s bond at $500,000.

While the health condition of the victim is not disclosed, the investigation continues.
