A Connecticut teenager whose body was found wrapped in a quilt on the side of the highway has been charged following the death of her cousins, PEOPLE has confirmed.

According to information obtained by PEOPLE, at approximately 7:09 a.m. local time on Saturday, November 9, the Hartford Police Department responded to reports of a body being found in the area of ​​80 Pope Park Highway.

Police identified the victim as Edgar Josué Chiche Martínez of Hartford, days short of celebrating his 19th birthday when he died on Nov. 14.

“Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units responded to the incident and initiated an investigation. The body was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, where it was learned that the victim was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” the police statement said.
