A father was left on the brink of death after being hit by a speeding car used as a ‘very dangerous weapon’.

Jack Kent suffered brain damage after being sent flying 20ft through the air after being “deliberately” crashed by a VW Golf outside a house in Weymouth, Dorset.

Horrific CCTV footage shows the 26-year-old being thrown over a nearby brick wall before landing face down in the front garden of a nearby house.

Jack’s friend Ross Whitehouse also failed during the attack before he was attacked by driver Leon Fowler, who dragged him onto the road and repeatedly punched him in the head.

Fowler, 25, was convicted of GBH with intent and dangerous driving after using ‘his car as an extremely dangerous weapon’ and was sentenced to nine years in prison.

Jack, who works as a builder, told the Sun he remembered nothing of the incident and was still recovering four months later.

He said: ‘Watching the footage was terrifying, when I saw it I just thought ‘wow, I’m lucky to have survived’.

‘I lay there choking on my own blood and it looked like I had been hit in the face with a shovel, my nose was flattened.’

Jack was hospitalized and fell into a coma; doctors weren’t sure if he would recover from this condition.

He spent two weeks in intensive care due to brain damage and underwent major reconstructive surgery to heal fractures in his face and arm.

Jack said he woke up thanks to his daughter giving him “a reason to live” and believed “someone was looking out for me.”

Jack, who went to court to watch Fowler’s sentencing, is now trying to put this horrific attack behind him.

Bournemouth Crown Court heard there was ‘some history’ between the three men involved.

Prosecutor Ruba Huleihel told the court Jack ‘didn’t have a chance to get out of the way’ of Fowler’s car before it rear-ended him.

‘The defendant then got out of the VW Golf and began attacking Ross Whitehouse. “He punched her about nine times and kicked and stamped her four times,” he added, according to the Sun.

Fowler claimed he “tried to scare Mr Kent” and that he “blacked out” during the attack so he “couldn’t remember anything”.
