Kenya Revenue Authority has asked Kenyans to verify their mobile numbers linked to the iTax System.

In a statement released on Tuesday, KRA said the exercise aims to: Ensuring the integrity of taxpayer records in order to improve service delivery to all taxpayers.

This is part of a data cleansing exercise on a taxpayer’s Personal Identification Number (PIN) registration details.

KRA directed taxpayers to log into the iTax System using their PIN number and password to verify the mobile number. During the process, iTax will display the available mobile numbers linked to their PINs.

“If the displayed mobile number is correct and is the preferred number, click ‘send verification code’ and a code will be sent to the displayed mobile number,” KRA said. he said.

If the displayed mobile number is not correct or preferred number, KRA has asked taxpayers to replace the number in the displayed pop-up with their preferred phone number and click on “Send verification code”.

As a result, a code will be sent to the new preferred mobile number and the taxpayer will then be required to enter the verification code received on the chosen mobile number to log into iTax.
