OUPD received a report and no further action was taken.

Athens County Sheriff’s Office Deputies began patrolling Converse Street in Chauncey while children were trick-or-treating after receiving calls from a careless driver.

Deputies did not find anyone driving recklessly, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies are on patrol

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office observed a suspicious vehicle on patrol at Athens High School on Nov. 3, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies contacted individuals who said they were leaving the area. The units then resumed patrol, according to the press release.

harassment complaint

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Route 682 on Nov. 3 after receiving a complaint of harassment. Upon arrival, deputies were told the subject was heading in an unknown direction.

An unsuccessful attempt was made to locate the individual, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a neighbor dispute on Deer Track Lane in Athens on Nov. 4 and found they were arguing about a shared driveway, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The issue became civil and lawmakers told both parties to stay apart.

Possible gunshots

Dispatch dispatched deputies to North Coolville Ridge Road in Athens on Nov. 4 after shots were heard, the Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies patrolled the area and prepared stationery.

No gunshots were heard and deputies returned to patrol, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Report of potential gunfire

Gunshots were reported Tuesday in The Plains. Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded, investigated the matter and conducted patrol, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The source of the sound is unknown, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a fight in Glouster on Tuesday. The teams found that two young people were fighting over a mobile phone charger.

The mother said she did not need any further assistance with the two children and units returned to patrol, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Wednesday, November 6

Don’t endanger children

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to The Plains on Wednesday to serve an arrest warrant, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Deputies arrested a man on two charges of child endangerment, both 2nd and 3rd degree felonies.

The person was taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville without incident.

A harassment report was received

On Wednesday around 8 p.m., OUPD received a report of possible telecommunications harassment due to harassing messages being sent on social media.

According to OUPD, the case is considered to be unfounded.

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call Thursday about an intoxicated person knocking on a family member’s door, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, it was determined that the subject had left before law enforcement arrived on scene.

According to the press release, the family member said that there was no physical attack, only verbal attacks. Deputies then returned to patrol.
