Medina County authorities pursuing Ohio Amber Alert suspect accused of kidnapping 7-year-old boy

EMPIRE, Ohio (WOIO) – One Yellow Alert It was released Monday afternoon for a missing 7-year-old boy who was last seen with a man in a damaged car.

The Amber Alert was canceled at 21:15 after local authorities began tracking the suspect.

“We had a tragic incident here this evening and Amber Alert issues that recently ended,” said Capt. Eric Bors of the Medina County Sheriff’s Office. “This is an ongoing investigation, the child is doing well and will be reunited with his mother shortly.”

The Medina County Ohio State Highway Patrol was pursuing the suspect as of 8:45 p.m.

OSHP does not provide any additional information.

7-year-old Oaklynn Alexander went missing from Empire, Ohio. He’s safe now.

Oaklynn was suspected of being with 43-year-old Charles Alexander, according to Ohio’s Amber Alert Web site.

Oaklynn and Charles were believed to be in a gray 2018 Ford F150, but the truck was found unoccupied. They then transferred to a U-Haul truck.

Authorities said Charles picked up Oaklynn after a fight at a family member’s home at 3 p.m. He does not have custody of the 7-year-old child.

“The child is fine, thank God. And a tragedy was avoided,” said Captain Bors. “The child appeared to be physically well now.”
