Toronto police say a man was transported to hospital early Monday morning following a stabbing in the city’s northwest end.

The incident occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. near Eglinton Avenue and Dufferin Street.

Police said a fight broke out between two people and one person was injured with a knife.

Police said life-saving measures were taken by first responders and the victim was taken to a trauma center for treatment. It was learned that the injured man’s life was not in danger.

Toronto police have not released any information about possible suspects. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
