MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – A 49-year-old man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 70 on Sunday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the first vehicle was traveling in the fast lane of State Road 70 west of 15th Street East. There was another vehicle in the westbound lane of the same road. At the crosswalk of State Route 70, the first car struck him, throwing him into the path of the second vehicle. A third vehicle then hit the man.

Manatee County EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide unit continues to investigate this traffic accident. No charges have been filed at this time.
