HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT/Gray News) – A woman died Wednesday when the motorcycle she was riding with her husband left the road and crashed into a cable barrier.

The crash happened around noon near mile marker 28 on Interstate 20 in Hinds County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

William Owens III, 27, was driving a 2022 Harley-Davidson with his wife, Desiree Owens, 24, as a passenger.

On I-20, the motorcycle went off the road and crashed into the cable barrier.

William Owens was taken to UMMC with unknown injuries, while his wife, Desiree Owens, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The couple was from Redwood, Mississippi.
