One person has died and two others have been injured in a stabbing incident in south London, the Metropolitan Police said.

Police officers were called to reports of multiple stabbings on Walworth’s East Street at around 10.40am on Sunday.

It was learned that one person died and 3 were injured at the scene. Two other people (a man and a woman) were taken to hospital for treatment and their condition is unknown.

A Met spokesman said a man believed to be in his 60s was arrested at the scene.
